SEASIDE, Calif. -- The Sacramento State women's golf team captured its

first tournament title of the season with a 12-shot victory at the Otter

Invitational over the weekend. The two-round tournament, which was

hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay, was held at the Boynet Golf Course.

Senior Erin Brannigan led the Hornet attack and claimed the individual

medalist honors. The senior from Bend, Ore., shot 82-82 to finish with

165 ? seven strokes ahead of the second-place finisher. Sophomore

Courtney Cotter tied for third and senior Denise Larson tied for 10th to

round out the top 10 finishers.

Gonzaga finished second in the team standings with 705. The University

of British Columbia (709) and Cal Poly (731) placed third and fourth,

respecitively. Willamette University and Cal State Monterey Bay each had

individual golfers but did not record a team score.
