WOMEN'S GOLF SIGNS CHLOE BARTEK TO NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Chloe Bartek became the first member of the 2013 Sacramento State women's golf recruiting class, it was announced by Director of Golf David Sutherland.
Bertak, who is currently a senior at Columbia River HS in Vancouver, Wash., will enroll at the University as a freshman in the fall of 2013.
"I'm thrilled to have Chloe commit to us and look forward to adding her to the team next year," Sutherland said. "She's shown the ability to succeed at high-level tournaments and should transition nicely to the collegiate game."
As a junior, Bartek was named the Girls Golfer of the Year by The Columbian after winning her second consecutive district championship and finishing seventh in the Washington Class 3A state tournament.
Bartek won the two-round 3A district by an amazing 23 strokes in 2012. She shot in the 70s for all four rounds of the district and state tournaments.
Following her sophomore and junior seasons, she was named all-district, all-region by The Oregonian and the was The Oregonian's Class 3A Player of the Year.
Over the summer, she represented Oregon at the Girls Jr. Americas Cup in Maui. Along with her three teammates, the team finished seventh. Bertak also won the Portland City Championship by seven strokes, shooting 5-under par over 36 holes. She also played at the US Girls Jr. Amateur at Lake Merced.
Bertak maintains a 4.0 gpa and also volunteers with several organizations.
