VIDEN NAMED BIG SKY WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — After setting the Sacramento State 54-hole record and finishing first at The Gunrock Invitational, Corinne Viden added Big Sky Women's Golfer of the Week to her growing resumé, it was announced today. The honor is the first for Viden in her career.

Viden shot 69-69-70-208 during the three-round tournament at Del Paso Country Club on March 4-5. Her 54-hole total beat her previous best by 10 strokes and topped the Sacramento State record of 211 which had been held by Nishtha Madan, Sofie Babic and Julia Becker.

The sophomore led all players in the field by averaging 4.53 and finished 7-under par on the par-5 holes. She also ranked third on the par-3s (2.87, -2) and was tied for fourth on the par-4s (4.04, +1). Viden finished the tournament with 16 birdies with just four bogeys and two double bogeys. Her total of 208 left her five strokes ahead of the closest competitor. Overall, she recorded wins over a pair of players ranked among the top 100 in Div. I by Golfstat.

Sacramento State will next complete at the Juli Inkster Invitational co-hosted by San Jose State and San Francisco on March 18-19. The event will be held at The Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.
