CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Sacramento State's Chloe Bartek and Lisa Persson were both named Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars. The pair were part of just 664 student-athletes from Div. I, II and III to earn the award. The criteria for the selection is one of the strictest as each recipient must have at least at 3.50 grade point average.
Bartek recently completed her freshman season where she was a second team all-Big Sky Conference selection. The Vancouver, Wash., native ranked second on the team with an average of 77.58 strokes per round. Bartek competed in 19 rounds during her first season and placed ninth at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic for her highest finish. The psychology major also earned Big Sky all-academic honors.
Persson was named first team all-Big Sky after leading the team with a stroke average of 75.64 in 22 rounds. The senior from Jonkoping, Sweden, finished third at the conference championship. Persson finished the season with three top five finishes and helped Sacramento State to a victory at the Rainbow Wahine. Persson graduated with a degree in economics following the spring semester.
