WOMEN'S GOLF BATTLES WEATHER AT ROSE CITY COLLEGIATE

AURORA, Ore. — Playing through heavy winds, rain and a soggy course due to the storm that hit the Pacific Northwest, the Sacramento State women's golf team is in ninth place after the first day of the Rose City Collegiate on Monday.

The tournament has been shortened to 36-holes due to the fact that only one round was able to be played on Monday.

The Hornets shot 313 as a team and are 20 strokes behind Oregon State for the team lead. The Beavers totaled 293 and hold a six-stroke lead over Gonzaga and UC Irvine. OSU's Anica Yoo is the individual leader with a 3-under par 69.

Sacramento State was led by Rockelle Sande who shot 75 and is tied for 10th place. Tiffany Nichols is tied for 17th following a round of 76. The team also counted rounds of 81 from Lisa Persson and Sagee Palavivatana.

The tournament will conclude with the second round on Tuesday.
