ROWING FALLS TO 4-2 WITH LOSS TO SAN DIEGO

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The Sacramento State women’s varsity eight dropped to 4-2 in dual meets this season after losing by 7.2 seconds to San Diego in the second and final day of the WCC Challenge Sunday morning at Redwood Shores.

Under rainy conditions, the Toreros crossed the 2,000-meter finish line with a winning time of 7:09.2, followed by Sacramento State (7:16.4). The Hornets'' top boat posted a 1-2 dual-meet record at the two-day regatta, beating Loyola Marymount and falling to Gonzaga on Saturday.

In the Hornets'' second race of the day, the team''s second varsity eight improved its dual-meet record to 4-0 with a victory over San Diego. Sacramento State crossed the finish line with a winning time of 7:24.8, followed by the Toreros at 7:31.2.

The Hornets used the following varsity eight lineup: Chanel Patterson at bow, Rebecca Hurtt at the two seat, Susan Kulzer at three, Sarah McKenzie at four, Adelle Reimer at five, Jennifer Boyer at six, Katie Litvinchuk at seven, Stephanie Brow at stroke and Christy Clifton at coxswain.

The team’s second varsity eight lineup consisted of Kira Morrison at bow, Sarah Karling at two, Steffanie Jakovac at three, Ashley Carl at four, Lauren Coats at five, Brittney Claycamp at six, Laura Harder at seven, Megan Foley at stroke and Nicole Reyes at coxswain.

Sacramento State does not race again until competing in the San Diego Crew Classic on April 5-6.
