ROWING FINISHES FIRST IN FIVE RACES AGAINST UC DAVIS AND SAN DIEGO STATE

SACRAMENTO STATE'S SECOND VARSITY EIGHT
GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The Sacramento State women’s rowing squad won four races, and tied for first in another Saturday morning in a dual-meet against San Diego State and UC Davis on Lake Natoma.
The Hornets placed first in the second varsity eight, novice eight, varsity four and novice four competitions, and finished in a dead heat with UC Davis in the varsity eight.
Sacramento State’s varsity eight and UC Davis’ top boat both finished with times of 6:48.5 over the 2,000-meter course while San Diego State finished with a time of 6:58.7. The second varsity eight competition saw the Hornets post a winning time of 6:54.9, followed by San Diego State’s time of 7:11.1.
Sacramento State posted a winning time of 7:02.5 in the novice eight, followed by San Diego State (7:09.6) and UC Davis (7:11.8).
The Hornets also posted victorious times in the varsity four (7:51.1) and novice four (8:37.4) races. The only competition the team didn’t at least finish in a tie for first was the second novice eight.
Sacramento State returns to action in two weeks for the San Diego Crew Classic.
