In the open eight event, Sacramento State’s A boat finished second with a time of 16:54 over a 2.7-mile race course. The Hornets’ B boat finished fifth with a time of 17:17. San Diego State A won the race with a time of 16:46 in a field that consisted of 18 boats.

In the novice eight competition which featured 20 boats, UCLA finished with a winning time of 16:53, followed by San Diego (17:43), Sacramento State (17:51), Orange Coast College A (18:21) and San Diego State A (18:23).

In the open four event (21-boat field), Sacramento State’s A boat finished third with a time of 18:33, and the Hornets’ B boat finished ninth with a time of 19:50.

The Newport Fall Regatta wraps up the fall season for Sacramento State, as the team does not compete again until its spring opener against Santa Clara on Saturday, March 3.
