As a sophomore (2006): Split the first four regattas of the season as the coxswain with the varsity eight and second varsity eight...inserted full time as the varsity eight’s coxswain at the San Diego Crew Classic and coxed the team’s top boat the final seven regattas of the season...coxed the varsity eight to the team’s first WIRA championship since 2001.

As a freshman (2005): Competed as the team’s coxswain with the novice eight in every race...coxed the novice eight to the boat’s first-ever WIRA Championship...also coxed the novice four in two races.

High School: A 2004 graduate of Palo Alto High School...did not compete in any sports for Palo Alto HS, but was a member of the Palo Alto Rowing Club for three years (2001-04)...competed as both a coxswain and rower for the Palto Alto Rowing Club.

Personal: Born Aug. 2, 1985...parents are Tom and Carol Platner...a biological sciences major and sociology minor.
