As a junior (2006): Competed in every race during the season, rowing primarily with the second varsity eight in the three, five and seven seats...competed with the varsity eight in the two seat in the team’s eighth consecutive victory over UC Davis...also sat in the six seat with the lightweight eight at the PCRC’s.

As a sophomore (2005): Raced in every competition during the spring season, including three times with the varsity eight, five times with the second varsity eight and three times with the novice eight...sat at bow in all three races with the V8, and at bow, four and five with the JV8...sat in the five seat with the Hornets’ JV8 which won silver at the WIRA Championships.

Prior to Sacramento State: Spent the 2003-04 academic year at Modesto Junior College, and the 2002-03 academic year at the University of Findlay in Ohio.
High School: A 2002 graduate of Marietta High School in Ohio...a four-sport athlete at Marietta (four years of soccer and rowing, two years of basketball and one season of cross country)...member of the Lightweight Eight which finished second at the Midwest Scholastic Rowing Championships.

Personal: Born Oct. 12, 1984...parents are Craig and Elizabeth Carlson...a family and consumer sciences major...has a 2,000-meter ergometer time of 7:37.3...brother, Daniel, is in his second season running track and cross country for Sacramento State.
