As a senior (2011):
A first team all-WIRA selection after serving as coxswain for the Hornets’ varsity eight in every spring race…coxed the varsity eight to a bronze medal at the WIRA Championships…coxed the team’s top boat each of the last two years…served as the team co-captain…recipient of the National Scholar-Athlete Award for the second consecutive year, given to rowers with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average.

As a junior (2010):
Served as the varsity eight coxswain for all but one spring race…also coxed the second varsity eight, varsity four and third varsity four on one occasion…coxed the varsity eight to a WIRA championship, the program’s first gold medal at the event since 2006…also coxed the Hornets’ top boat to a Varsity Heavyweight Eight championship at the Dad Vail Regatta, the program’s second gold at the event in school history…recipient of the National Scholar-Athlete Award.

As a sophomore (2009):
In her first season with the Hornets, she was coxswain for five different boats, including the varsity eight (twice), second varsity eight (twice), novice eight (three times), varsity four (three times) and second varsity four (once)...coxed the varsity four in the boat’s final three competitions of the year, including the WIRA Championships.

Prior to Sacramento State: Competed with Syracuse’s novice crew during the fall of 2007...coxed the team’s novice eight at the Syracuse Invitational in November.

High School: A 2007 graduate of Sacramento’s Mira Loma High School...competed in three years of swimming and two years of water polo...rowed for Capital Crew (based at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center) from 2005-07...won a pair of national titles in two age categories at the 2006 Masters National Championships in Seattle.

Personal: Born Sept. 9, 1989...parents are Jim and Kathy Carlson...a communication studies major with a minor in peace and conflict studies…during the summer of 2010, she was coxswain for the Philadelphia Vesper Boat Club at both the USRowing Club National Championships and the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta…at the club nationals, she won a gold with the Senior Eight and a bronze with the Intermediate Eight…at Henley, she won a gold with the under-23 Eight, and a silver with the Senior Eight.
