As a senior (2011): Competed in three races during the spring…sat in the three seat with the second novice eight in one race, bow with the second varsity four in one race, and two seat with the third varsity four in one race.
As a junior (2010): Competed in three races during the spring, including sitting at bow with the varsity four against UC Davis…also sat at bow twice towards the beginning of the year with the second varsity four.
As a sophomore (2009): Competed with three different boats during the spring, primarily with the varsity four...sat at bow with the varsity four in four races, and at bow in one race with the third varsity four…named the team’s most inspirational rower.
As a freshman (2008): Was the coxswain for the novice eight in every spring race...also coxed the novice four...that included the team’s silver-medal winning Collegiate Novice Four entry at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships.
High School: A 2007 graduate of Sierra High School in Manteca, Calif...ran four years of track and field, and one season of cross country...recipient of the Scholar Athlete Award during her junior year.
Personal: Born Nov. 5, 1989...parents are Samuel Engayo and Ada Ortiz...a kinesiology major.
