As a senior (2010): A second team all-WIRA selection…coxswain of the varsity four during the boat’s final three spring races…also coxed both the varsity eight and second varsity four on one occasion…coxed the varsity four to a bronze medal at the WIRA Championships despite the boat including three first-year rowers.
As a junior (2009): Was coxswain of the varsity four and second varsity eight, respectively, during the first two races of the spring before coxing the varsity eight in every regatta the rest of the season...coxswain of the varsity eight that finished with a silver medal at the WIRA Championships, the boat’s highest finish at the conference championship since 2006.
As a sophomore (2008): Spent the final eight spring regattas as the coxswain of the team’s varsity eight...spent the first three races coxing the second varsity eight...was the coxswain with the team’s varsity eight which won silver at the Dad Vail Regatta, and placed fourth at the San Diego Crew Classic’s Cal Cup...also coxed the varsity four in six races, including the boat’s gold-medal performance at the WIRA Championships.
As a freshman (2007): Served as coxswain for six different Hornet boats, including the third varsity eight, novice eight, varsity four, second varsity four and novice four...also coxed the team’s Open Eight that won bronze at the PCRC’s.
High School: A 2006 graduate of Justin-Siena High School...competed four years in swimming, and three years of water polo...member of the very first water polo team at Justin-Siena (program began in 2004)...was teammates with former Hornet Aimee Chenard on the swim team.
Personal: Born Jan. 10, 1988...parents are Jack and Marianne...a health science major...brother, Steve DeGoede, was team captain of the UC Santa Barbara rowing program in 2008.
