As a senior (2010): For the third straight year, she competed with the varsity eight in every spring race…one of two team captains (Holly Hopkins)…including her freshman season when she rowed with the second varsity eight, Cook never missed a race during her four-year career…sat at five with the varsity eight during the first race of the spring, and then at sat at three the remainder of the season…sat at three with the varsity eight which won the WIRA championship, the program’s first gold medal at the event since 2006…also sat at three with the Hornets’ top boat that won the Varsity Heavyweight Eight championship at the Dad Vail Regatta, the program’s second gold at the event in school history.
As a junior (2009): Rowed with the varsity eight in every spring race...competed in the seven seat in the spring opener before racing in the five seat in every regatta the rest of the way...part of the silver-medal winning varsity eight crew at the WIRA Championships...also competed in the varsity four in one race.
As a sophomore (2008): Raced the entire season with the varsity eight...competed in the first three races in the seven seat, the next four races at bow, and the final four back in the seven seat...sat at seven with the team’s varsity eight which won a silver medal at the Dad Vail Regatta...competed with the varsity four six times (twice at three, four times at bow)...sat at bow during the four’s gold-medal performance at the WIRA Championships.
As a freshman (2007): Competed with the second varsity eight in every race...sat in the seven seat in all but one race, including the bronze-medal winning second varsity eight at the WIRA Championships...sat at five at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships.
High School: A 2006 graduate of Shorewood High School in Shoreline, Wash...ran both track and cross country during her freshman season...rowed for the Pocock Rowing Center in Seattle from 2003-06...the team’s varsity eight won gold at the USRowing Junior Nationals in 2006...won silver medals with both the JV quad and JV4, and bronze in the pair.
Personal: Born Aug. 17, 1988...parents are Jim and Tami Cook...a health science major.
