Prior to Sacramento State: Competed with Syracuse’s novice crew during the fall of 2007...coxed the team’s novice eight at the Syracuse Invitational in November of 2007.

High School: A 2007 graduate of Sacramento’s Mira Loma High School...competed in three years of swimming and two years of water polo...competed for Capital Crew (based at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center) from 2005-07...won a pair of national titles in two age categories at the 2006 Masters National Championships in Seattle.

Personal: Born Sept. 9, 1989...parents are Jim and Kathy Carlson...a communication studies major with a minor in peace and conflict studies.
