As a freshman (2007): Served as coxswain for six different Hornet boats, including the second varsity eight B, novice eight, varsity four, varsity four B and novice four...also coxed the team’s Open Eight entry which won bronze at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships.

High School: A 2006 graduate of Justin-Siena High School...competed four years in swimming, and three years of water polo...member of the very first water polo team at Justin-Siena (program began in 2004)...was teammates with current Hornet rower Aimee Chenard on the Braves’ swim team.

Personal: Born Jan. 10, 1988...parents are Jack and Marianne...a nursing major with a 3.04 gpa...brother, Steve DeGoede, is currently the team captain of the UC Santa Barbara rowing program.
