RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif - The Sacramento State women's novice eight placed second at the school's annual Novice Invitational Sunday morning at the CSUS Aquatic Center in Rancho Cordova, Calif.

The Hornets finished the 5,000-meter course in a time of 19:46, 27 seconds behind first-place finishing UC Davis "A" (19:19). UC Davis "B" (20:06), UC Davis "C" (21:24) and Mills College (22:23) rounded out the top five.

The race wrapped up Sacramento State's fall schedule as the team does not compete again until March 3 when it takes on Humboldt State and Saint Mary's at the Aquatic Center.
