BILL ZACK SELECTED TO BE AN ASSISTANT COACH FOR THE U.S. NATIONAL TEAM

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento State women's head rowing coach Bill Zack

was selected to be an assistant coach for the U.S. National Team when it

competes in the I-Lan International Collegiate Invitational Regatta next

week.

The regatta, which takes place on the Tungshan River in I-Lan, Taiwan, will

feature 22 crews from 10 different countries. He will assist with the

coaching of the women's national team which will compete in the lightweight

quads.

Zack, who has previously coached crews at the Pan American Games, the U.S.

National Championships and the American Rowing Championships, has led the

Sacramento State varsity eight to a 26-4 duals record in his four years at

the helm the program. He was named Western Intercollegiate Rowing

Association (WIRA) Coach of the Year in 2000 after guiding the Hornets to a

WIRA championship, a Cal Cup championship and an 8-1 record in dual meets.
