The Hornets have now defeated the Aggies in the varsity eight competition seven times since the two teams began racing for the Jean Runyon Cup in 1997. Sacramento State crossed the 2,000-meter finish line with a winning time of 6:54.9, followed by UC Davis (7:02.2).

Sacramento State was also victorious in the second varsity eight competition as the Hornets finished with a time of 7:08.3, followed by UC Davis (7:15.1).

UC Davis'' novice eight (7:12.5) defeated the Hornets (7:18.7) by a little more than six seconds. The Aggies were also victorious in the second novice eight race with a time of 7:37.2, followed by Sacramento State (7:48.2).

In the fifth and final race of the day, Sacramento State "A" was victorious in the varsity four competition with a time of 7:34.6, followed by Sacramento State "B" (7:39.4), UC Davis "A" (7:44.5) and UC Davis "B" (7:49.6).

The Hornets will take the next two weeks off before returning to the water on April 3-4 to take part in the San Diego Crew Classic.
