WACO, Texas – Sacramento State senior Breanne Hart placed second in the "individual product presentation" category at the National Collegiate Sales Competition this past weekend at the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University.Hart, who is the Hornets'' varsity eight coxswain for the second-consecutive year, competed against 45 students representing the finest undergraduate business programs in the country. The competition "provided an opportunity for highly talented and qualified students to exhibit and enhance their selling skills in a national competition". This marked the first time Sacramento State had been represented in the competition.
A team co-captain, the San Diego native captured a gold medal in the summer of 1999 at the USRowing national championships in the women''s four with coxswain while representing the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Hart will graduate in May and has already accepted a sales associate position with a prominent consumer goods company.
The Hornets, who are currently 3-0 in dual meets this season, will compete against Indiana, Stanford and Loyola Marymount this weekend at the Sacramento State Invitational. The regatta takes place March 23-24 at the CSUS Aquatic Center in Rancho Cordova, Calif.
