ROWING TAKES FIRST PLACE AT THE HEAD OF THE AMERICAN

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – The Sacramento State women's rowing team took first place in the quadruple sculls competition at the Head of the American Saturday morning at the CSUS Aquatic Center.

The Hornets finished the three-mile course with a time of 19:22, 52 seconds quicker than second-place Newport Aquatic Center (20:14). Sacramento State used a lineup that consisted of Stephanie Brow at bow, Adelle Reimer at the two seat, Megan Warren at three, Megan Spitze at stroke and Jenna DuBois at coxswain.

In the women's novice eight, the Hornets finished third with a time of 20:16, trailing first-place Cal (18:48) and second-place Saint Mary's (19:53). In the open eight competition, Sacramento State finished ninth, one spot ahead of UC Irvine.

The Head of the American marked Sacramento State's final regatta of the fall season as the team does not compete again until a four-team race on March 2.
