SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento State women's rowing program
announced that local product Jodi Johnson has signed a National
Letter of Intent and will enroll as a freshman at Sacramento State
next fall.
Currently a senior at Mesa Verde High School, Johnson has played
three years of volleyball and four years of both basketball and
softball for the Mavericks. The 5-9 native of Citrus Heights, Calif.,
who has been named to the honor roll all four years, helped lead the
softball team to a section championship during her sophomore season
and a section runner-up finish as a junior.
"Jodi is extremely athletic and that will allow her to pick up rowing
quickly," head coach Bill Zack said. "Along with Jodi, we hope to
continue attracting quality Sacramento-area athletes to come here and
row."
Johnson marks the third Sacramento State signee of the year as Jenna
DuBois and Kellie Wilder signed during the early signing period.
