Email: tallman@csus.edu
Bio:
Tracey Tallman begins her first season as an assistant coach at Sacramento State after spending the previous two years as an assistant of both the men’s and women’s rowing squads at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. With the Hornets, Tallman’s primary duties will include assisting in all aspects of recruiting, training the novice squad and assisting with the varsity team.

At St. Lawrence, she helped coach the women’s team to consecutive NCAA Div. III Rowing Championship appearances in 2008 and 2009, the first in the school’s history. The 2009 squad placed seventh at the national team championship and the 2008 team placed sixth.

In addition, the women’s squad won back-to-back Liberty League championships during her tenure at St. Lawrence and she was a member of the staff that won the Liberty League’s Coaching Staff of the Year award in both 2008 and 2009.

Tallman also had coaching stints as an assistant with the Saratoga Rowing Association (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) in the summers of 2008 and 2009, and as a volunteer assistant at Skidmore College in the summer of 2003.

As a student-athlete, Tallman competed four years for Minnesota from 2003-07, and was a three-year member of the varsity squad. As a senior in 2007, she helped the Golden Gophers to a Big Ten Conference championship and the school’s first-ever appearance at the NCAA Women’s Rowing Championship.

During her junior season (2006), she was a member of Minnesota’s varsity four that claimed the boat’s first-ever Big Ten championship, one season after the crew placed fourth in the same event. As a freshman (2004), the Saratoga Springs, N.Y., native was a member of the team’s novice eight that went undefeated and won the Big Ten championship. At the conclusion of the season, she was named the novice squad’s most valuable rower.

Prior to Minnesota, she competed with the Saratoga Rowing Association’s varsity squad from 1999-03.

Tallman earned her master’s degree in educational leadership from St. Lawrence in May of 2009, and earned a bachelor’s degree in sports studies from Minnesota in 2007.
