SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento State women's basketball team tips off in the Nest for the first time this year with a preseason exhibition game Monday vs. William Jessup. Monday night's game in the Nest is scheduled for a 7:05 pm tip off.
Tickets for Monday's exhibition game are just $5. All Sacramento State faculty and staff will be admitted free. Like every athletics event on campus, Sacramento State students are always admitted free with a valid OneCard.
Although Monday's game will not be on the air or live streamed, all home games during the regular season will be broadcast online at HornetSports.com. Video streams will also be available online at WatchBigSky.com and via Pluto TV.
After Monday's exhibition game, the Sacramento State women's basketball team will open the regular season with a home contest against Cal Poly on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 2:05 pm. The Hornets open the year with back-to-back home games as they host Ohio State just five days later on Friday, Nov. 16 as part of a doubleheader with the men's team.
Sacramento State enters the 2018-19 season with its largest roster since current head coach Bunky Harkleroad took over the program. Among those are nine returners, including three starters. Among the returners are last year's leading scorer, Hannah Friend (17.5 ppg), last year's leading rebounder, Kennedy Nicholas (7.0 rpg), and last year's assist leader, Tiara Scott (3.4 apg). The team also has eight newcomers, including three transfers.
