WOMEN’S BASKETBALL RECRUITS SHINING IN FINAL HIGH SCHOOL SEASONS

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento State's incoming class of four recruits, announced by head coach Bunky Harkleroad in November, are putting up big numbers in their high school senior seasons before joining the Hornets in the Fall.

Anna Weibel, a 6-3 forward from Estes Park, Colo., is the leading rebounder and shot blocker in the state of Colorado. She is averaging 17.3 rebounds and 7.7 blocks per game while also scoring 22.2 points per game. She had a 28-point, 20-rebound, and six-block stat line in a game in December.

In Kalispell, Mont., 6-2 wing Tiana Johnson is leading her Flathead high school team averaging 19 points per game with 8.3 rebounds. Regarded as one of the top recruits in the state of Montana, Johnson scored 25 against Great Falls in a 47-45 Flathead win and last weekend scored 28 against Columbia Falls, but the Bravettes fell 57-42.

Playing for No. 3- ranked Bishop Gorman high school in Las Vegas, Skylar Jackson has led the Gaels to a 15-3 overall record and 5-0 league mark. In a battle for the top spot in the Southwest League on Tuesday, Jackson scored her team's last eight points and totaled 20 points and nine rebounds in a 57-47 road win at Desert Oasis.

Dana Degraffenried has led her Ridgeview high school team in Bakersfield to a 12-4 record this season while averaging 20.4 points. The 5-10 guard has scored in double figures in every game this year with a 32-point performance in a 64-20 win over Dinuba and 27 points in a loss to Reno.
