OGDEN, Utah – Sacramento State junior point guard Fantasia Hilliard has been named honorable mention on the 2014 all-Big Sky Women's Basketball teams, the conference announced Monday. The All-Big Sky honorees were selected through a vote by the league's 11 head coaches.
The award is the second consecutive all-Big Sky honorable mention selection for Hilliard after she was named Big Sky Outstanding Freshman after her first season.
Hilliard leads the Big Sky and ranks 13th in the NCAA with 6.4 assists per game this season. She is also second on the team with 11.7 points per game and is third with 2.24 steals per game to go with her conference-leading assist total. She has started a team-high 24 games this season and has shot a career-best .381 from the field and .346 from beyond the arc, knocking down 28 three-pointers to help her team break the NCAA single season record for made 3-pointers.
She has led the team in assists in 23 of 29 games this year, twice equaling the single game program record of 12 assists, and she has posted a team best four double-doubles this season. Hilliard has 15 double-digit scoring games on the year, including three games scoring 20 or more, and had a season-high 26 points vs. Montana State on Jan. 2.
Hilliard broke the Sacramento State program record for career assists during her junior season, is nearing teammate Alle Moreno's career steals record, and last week broke her own program record with her 185th assist of the season.
