This is the first time Hilliard has been named Big Sky Player of the Week in her career. She is the third to earn the honor this season, as junior won after scoring 39 points in an overtime win at Oregon State and senior won following a 20 point, 15 rebound performance versus UC Davis. Sacramento State earned the award three times last season.
Hilliard scored 34 points and tallied 16 assists combined in Sacramento State's pair of Big Sky Conference wins over the weekend versus Portland State and Eastern Washington.
In helping the Hornets remain undefeated at home this season, Hilliard shined against Eastern Washington on Saturday. She scored a career-high 22 points on 7-of-9 shooting with a game-high seven assists. She went 7-of-9 from the field, including 3-of-3 from three-point range, and was also a perfect 5-of-5 at the free throw line. On Thursday versus Portland State, the point guard tallied 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting with nine assists.
Hilliard is scoring a team-best 15.6 points per game in Big Sky play and has eclipsed 10+ points in all five league games. She is shooting 44.1 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from three-point range in league games.
Baker averaged 17.5 points per game for the Lady Griz in two wins over the weekend. and Montana's Katie Baker have been named Big Sky Conference Women's Basketball Co-Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
