WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOPPED BY BOISE STATE ON THE ROAD

BOISE, Idaho - The Sacramento State women's basketball team fell on the road to the Boise State Broncos by a final score of 87-60, on Sat., Dec. 15 at Taco Bell Arena.
The Hornets, who have gotten off to quick starts at home, struggled from the get go against the Broncos, as Boise State began the game by outscoring the Hornets 37-14. Propelling the Broncos to the fast start was Tasha Harris, who started the contest 4-of-5 from the field, including 2-of-2 from beyond the three-point arc, and Ja'Lara Walker, who was four of her first six from the field. Boise State continued their hot shooting, finishing the half leading 51-20.
The Broncos, who shot 53.8 percent (21-of-39) from the field in the half, outrebounded the Hornets by a margin of 23-15. They were led by Harris with 13 points and Walker with eight. The Hornets were led by sophomore Charday Hunt (Oregon City, Ore.), who tallied eight points in the half, while junior Becca Reams (Foresthill, Calif.) added five, including her first three-pointer of the season.
Boise State continued their advantage, building as large as a 44 point lead before the Hornets would mount a small rally, cutting the Bronco advantage to 27 after a 25-10 run over the final that covered the final 9:52 of the contest.
The Hornets were led by sophomore Erika Edwards (Redmond, Wash.) who posted 12 points and seven rebounds, while junior Atty Boyer (Sacramento, Calif.) added 11 points and five boards.
The Broncos, who outrebounded Sacramento State 47-28, were paced by Harris' 19 points, while Jessica Thompson added 16.
The Hornets will return to action on Fri., Dec 11, as they travel to take on Fresno State. Tipoff from the Save Mart Center is schedule for 7:05 p.m.
