WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DROPS DECISION TO BIG 12 FOE IOWA STATE

AMES, Iowa - The Sacramento State Hornets dropped a 99-45 decision to the Iowa State Cyclones on Sun., Nov. 18 at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa.
With the loss, the Hornets fall to 0-3 on the season, while the Cyclones improve to 2-0 with the victory.
The first half of action saw the Hornets and Cyclones battle from beyond the three-point arc, as freshman Emily Christensen (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) was a perfect 3-of-3 from three-point land, while the Cyclones' Heath Ezell was 7-of-11 from downtown, scoring 23 points in the first half. Junior Atty Boyer (Sacramento, Calif.) proved to be a strong force inside, despite being outmatched height-wise by Iowa State, connecting on 4-of-7 from the field in the first half for eight points.
After intermission, the Cyclones opened up with a 23-5 run over the first seven minutes of the half to open up the game. Ezell continued her hot shooting, going 3-of-4 from beyond the arc in the second half, finishing with a career-high 32 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the field, including 10-of-15 from three.
For the contest, the Hornets were led by Christensen, who posted a career-high 14 points, while Boyer added 12 points.
Ezell led all scores with 32 points, while Nicky Weiben added 12 points to pace Iowa State. The Cyclones outrebounded the Hornets by a count of 46-22, while converting on 24 second-chance points to the Hornets eight.
The Hornets return to action on Sat., Nov. 24 as they travel to UC Irvine to face the Anteaters. The final game of a four game season-opening homestand, the game is scheduled for a 4:05 p.m. tipoff.
