WOMEN'S HOOPS GOES OUT WITH A BANG, DRUBS WEBER STATE IN SEASON-FINALE

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento State women's basketball team gave seniors Tika Koshiyama-Diaz and Jasmine Cannady a fantastic gift on Saturday afternoon at The Nest as the Hornets defeated Weber State, 69-54, for their first Big Sky Conference win of the season.
The Hornets finish the 2010-11 campaign with a 4-25 (1-15 Big Sky) record while Weber State falls to 7-21 (3-13).
Sacramento State dominated the game from the tip, as Jamie Craighead's squad put together a 32-11 run to open the game and went into halftime with a 26 point lead at 43-17. The Hornets shot 46.9-percent in the first half while their stiffling defense held Weber State to just 7-of-23 shooting and forced 20 turnovers.
After the break, the Hornets held on for a 15-point win despite shooting 0-of-8 from behind the 3-point line in the second half.
Kylie Kuhns finished her phenomenal sophomore season with 12 points and a game-high 15 rebounds for her league-leading 13th double-double. Her 321 rebounds this year is the second most for a single season in team history.
Kuhns led the Hornets in scoring and rebounding throughout the year and ends the 2010-11 season averaging 15.9 points per game and a Big Sky Conference-best 11.1 rebounds per game. She is also second on the team in assists and blocks.
Koshiyama-Diaz capped off her senior year just one assist shy of tying the Sacramento State single-season record. She tallied 159 assists this season a year after compiling 141 helpers. The San Jose, Calif., native finishes her impressive four-year career with 381 assists, good for second place all-time in school history.
Sami Field-Polisso scored 11 points versus Weber State and made a pair of 3-pointers while attempting nine. She holds the school record for career 3-point field goal attempts with 563 in just three seasons. She has made 201 career 3-point baskets.
Natasha Togerson posted her second double-double of the season against Weber State, scoring 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. She entered the game No. 2 in the league with 38 blocks and had four more versus the Wildcats. She remains at No. 2 in the conference but moved to No. 7 in school history for blocks in a single season with 42 rejections.
Mallorie Franco nearly had a double-double against Weber State as well. Franco tied her career-high with 10 boards and had seven points.
Weber State was led by Caitlin Anderson's 17 points plus Amanda Hughes chipped in 15. Justin Johnson had a team-high seven rebounds.
Sacramento State shot 36.8-percent from the floor on 25-of-68 shooting, including 5-20 from 3-point range. The Hornets snagged 49 rebounds, committed 23 turnovers and had 17 assists on their 25 made baskets. They went 14-of-18 at the free throw line.
Weber State shot 31.7-percent overall on 20-of-63 shooting, with 9-of-22 coming from beyond the arc. The Wildcats grabbed 42 rebounds, were pressured into 27 turnovers - 20 in the first half - and had 12 assists on 20 made hoops. They went 10-of-14 at the free throw line.
It was the first time in conference play this season that the Hornets had more rebounds than their opponent.
Senior Jasmine Cannady had nine points and six rebounds in her final game with the Hornets.
