WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LOSES 83-64 AT NAU

Mallorie Franco and the Hornets fell at Northern Arizona on Thursday night.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Sacramento State women's basketball team lost 83-64 to Northern Arizona on Thursday night in a Big Sky Conference game at the Rolle Activity Center.

The Hornets fall to 3-23 (0-13 Big Sky) while the Lumberjacks improve to 10-17 (5-9).

Sacramento State led by as much as eight points in the first half but Northern Arizona rallied to take their own eight point lead at halftime.

The rally continued in the second half, as Northern Arizona pushed it's lead up to 21 points less than five minutes into the second half. The Lumberjacks led by as much as 28 before pulling away with a 19 point victory.

Sacramento State shot 41.4-percent from the floor on 24-of-58 shooting, including 5-of-18 from 3-point range. The Hornets snagged 34 rebounds, committed 29 turnovers and had 18 assists on their 24 made baskets. They went 11-of-16 at the free throw line.

Northern Arizona shot 46.5-percent overall on 33-of-71 shooting, with 4-of-10 coming from beyond the arc. The Lumberjacks grabbed 42 rebounds, were pressured into 18 turnovers and had 21 assists on 33 made hoops. They went 13-of-18 at the free throw line


The Hornets stay on the road for one final game this season - at Weber State on Saturday afternoon. Sacramento State closes out the 2010-11 season at home next weekend, also against NAU and Weber State.
