WOMEN'S HOOPS ENDS SEASON WITH LOSS AT EASTERN WASHINGTON; ALLDRIN AND BOYER SCORE IN DOUBLE FIGURES

3/4/2006

Sacramento State ended its season with a 79-58 loss to Eastern Washington on Saturday afternoon at Reese Court.

Already out of playoff contention after a loss to Portland State on Thursday night, the Hornets were led by Cindy Alldrin for the third straight game. The Vancouver, Wash., native scored a game-high 15 points in her final game as a Hornet.

Sacramento State finishes its season 9-17 overall and 4-10 in the Big Sky. The Hornets’ overall mark is its best finish since the 1995-96 season (10-18). The Eagles, on their way to a sixth consecutive postseason tournament appearance, finish the regular season 13-14 and 7-7 in the Big Sky.

Third-year head coach Dan Muscatell started his entire senior class, including fourth-year senior Katelyn Ciampi. The Martinez, Calif., native ends her career playing in 93 games (90 starts) and scoring 623 points. Her 483 rebounds rank seventh in program history, while her 55 career blocks rank fourth all-time.

Alldrin, who was also a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line, improved her season total to 85-of-98. The 5-foot-9 guard’s 86.7 shooting percentage from the charity stripe ranks second in single season program history.

Also seeing their final action as Hornets were Ashley Cadotte, Lindsay Calmettes and Lindsey Heard.

Cadotte ends her two-year career with 401 points and 367 rebounds. The Oregon City, Ore., native led the team in rebounding 31 times in her career and posted career highs with 23 points and 16 rebounds earlier this season.

Heard ends her career with 51 career three-pointers. Earlier this season, the Roseburg, Ore., native also recorded her first career double-double. Calmettes scored a career-high 12 points at Montana on a 4-of-4 shooting performance from beyond the three-point line. The Gresham, Ore., native played in 48 games during her two seasons.

The Eagles were led by Julie Page and Jamie Chicane, who scored 13 points apiece. Felice Moore added 12 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

Hornet freshman Atty Boyer was the only other player in double figures, scoring a career-high 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting and a 5-of-7 performance from the free-throw line. The 2005 El Camino High School graduate also had a career-high two blocks.

Sacramento State shot just 32.1 percent (17-of-53) from the floor while the Eagles shot 55.2 percent, a season-high for a Hornet opponent this year.
