Bio: Jared Nessland is in his second season at Sacramento State after serving as the head strength and conditioning coach at Southern Illinois from 2008-11. He works primarily with women's basketball, football and men's golf.

Nessland, a 1999 graduate of Montana State, also served as the head strength and conditioning coach at Montana (2006-07) and North Dakota (2002-06). In addition, he was an assistant at Nebraska (2002) and North Dakota (2001-02). He began his career as a student intern at Montana State 1998.

A native of Havre, Mont., Nessland was a three-year letterwinner and academic all-conference selection for the track and field team at Montana State where he competed in the shotput, hammer and weight throw. He was also a competitive weight lifter, earning fifth place at the 1999 Collegiate National Championships in the 105 kg class.
