Prior to Sacramento State: Attended San Joaquin Delta JC for two years…competed in two years of track and field as a thrower…finished ninth at the state meet as a sophomore and was 11th as a freshman…won the Fresno City Invitational with a javelin throw of 192-00.

High School: A 2006 graduate of Lincoln HS in Stockton, Calif…participated in football and track for the Trojans…finished second in the discus at the San Joaquin Athletic Association meet…helped his teams to a pair of SJAA titles in track and three in football.
