SIX HORNETS NAMED TO USTFCCCA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM 7/16/2009 NEW ORLEANS — Six members of the Sacramento State track and field team were named to the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association all-academic team. The group is comprised of three men and three women which also earned all-Big Sky Conference academic honors. For the Hornet men, Ronald Brookins, Scott Grose and David Rabinowitz were named to the national team. The women were represented by Ify Agwuenu, Morinsola Keshinro and Ericka Violett. Not only have all-six student athletes succeeded in the classroom, each individual also competed at the NCAA West Regional in May and Brookins advanced to the NCAA Championships The USTFCCCA honors Division I individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or the NCAA Division I Outdoor regional or national qualifying standard in their respective event.
