SIX HORNETS NAMED TO USTFCCCA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

NEW ORLEANS — Six members of the Sacramento State track and field team were named to the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association all-academic team. The group is comprised of three men and three women which also earned all-Big Sky Conference academic honors.

For the Hornet men, Ronald Brookins
, Scott Grose and David Rabinowitz were named to the national team. The women were represented by Ify Agwuenu, Morinsola Keshinro and Ericka Violett.

Not only have all-six student athletes succeeded in the classroom, each individual also competed at the NCAA West Regional in May and Brookins advanced to the NCAA Championships

The USTFCCCA honors Division I individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or the NCAA Division I Outdoor regional or national qualifying standard in their respective event.
