SEARCY BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD IN 100-HURDLES AT MODESTO RELAYS

5/5/2007

MODESTO, Calif. — Sacramento State senior Nancy Searcy broke the school record in the 100-hurdles, Saturday afternoon at the Modesto Relays. Searcy ran 13.43 to better the previous school record of 13.46 which was set by Natalie Day in 1985. Prior to this meet, Searcy’s best time was 13.47 set last weekend at the California Collegiate Challenge.

Searcy enters next week’s Big Sky Championships as the top seed in both the 100-hurdles and the long jump. She was the 55-hurdles champion at the Big Sky Indoor Championships in February. Her time at Modesto is the third fastest in the West Region this year and is tied for the 24th fastest nationally in Div. I.
