FOUR HORNETS SET NINE PERSONAL BESTS DURING FIRST DAY OF JIM CLICK SHOOTOUT

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Sacramento State men's and women's track and field teams were represented  by four student-athletes at the Jim Click Shootout on Thursday at the University of Arizona. Emilia Del Hoyo and Chloe Lindbo competed in the heptathlon while Frederick Wagner V and Andrew Stich took part in the first day of the decathlon.

Del Hoyo is in seventh place in heptathlon A group. The senior started by running a PR of 14.15 in the 100-hurdles. She then cleared 5-01.75 before setting another personal best with a shot put of 35-11.25. Del Hoyo completed the day by running 25.80 in the 200 for her third PR of the afternoon. Through four events, she has totaled 3,065 points.

Lindbo is in sixth place in the heptathlon B group with 2,751 points. She set personal bests of 14.85 in the 100-hurdles and 5-01.00 in the high jump in her first two events. She then had a shot put of 29-05.25 before running 26.56 in the 200 for another PR.

Both Wagner and Stich competed in the decathlon B group and sit in second and sixth place, respectively. Wagner totaled 3,473 points in his five events. He opened with a PR of 11.39 in the 100 and had a long jump of 21-07.50. He followed with a shot put of 35-00.50, cleared 5-10.75 and ran 49.77 in the 400.

Stich set three personal bests in his five events en route to 3,206 points during the first day. The senior ran 11.58 in the 100 and long jumped 20-09.25 for his first two personal bests. After a shot put of 32-10.50, he had a successful attempt at 5-08.50 in the high jump for his third PR. Stich ran 51.50 in the 400 to wrap up his day.

The multi events will conclude on Friday with the final three events of the heptathlon and the last five events of the decathlon.
