OGDEN, Utah — Sacramento State senior Cassidy Zurn was named the Big Sky Conference's Women's Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the first for Zurn this season and the second of her career.
The Highlands Ranch, Colo., native set a career best in the 400-hurdles for the second consecutive week. Zurn finished first at the UC Riverside Spring Classic Invitational with a time of 59.52. That time ranks second in the Big Sky this season and 14th nationally in Div. I. Zurn also moved up to fifth place in school history.
Zurn first broke the one-minute mark in the 400-hurdles two weeks ago at Hornet Invitational where she finished first in 59.85. That time moved her into sixth place in school history.
Sacramento State will return home for its final home meet of the year on Saturday, March 30, as the team hosts the Mondo Team Challenge.
