BRITTANY PATTERSON NAMED BIG SKY WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

OGDEN, Utah — Brittany Patterson was named the Big Sky Women's Field Athlete of the Week following her dominant performance at the Hornet Invitational. Patterson finished first in the long jump and was third in the triple jump at the meet to earn her first Big Sky weekly award of her career.

The sophomore moved into third place in school history and posted the fifth-best long jump in NCAA Div. I this season with a mark of 20-00.50 (6.11m). The Phoenix, Ariz., native now leads the Big Sky by 15.5 inches in the event.

Patterson is also the Big Sky leader and ranks 21st nationally in the triple jump. She had a best of 40-04.25 at the Hornet Invitational. The competition was her first since winning her second consecutive Big Sky Conference indoor title in the triple jump. Patterson and teammate Nashedah Mu'Min are the only Big Sky athletes to jump at least 39 feet during this outdoor season.

Sacramento State nexts travels to Southern California for the UC Riverside Spring Classic on Friday and Saturday.
