DARIUS ARMSTEAD NAMED BIG SKY MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

OGDEN, Utah — Sacramento State's Darius Armstead was named the Big Sky Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week following his performance at the Causeway Classic Dual Meet last Friday night at Hornet Stadium. The honor is the first for Armstead this season and the third of his career.

A year after setting the school record in the triple jump at the Causeway meet, Armstead finished first again with a season best of 52-04.75. The distance came on his first attempt of the meet and moved him into first place in the conference this season. In fact, the Visalia, Calif., native is the first Big Sky athlete to go beyond 52-feet this season and now ranks 16th nationally in NCAA Div. I.

Sacramento State will take part in its final regular season meet of the year on Saturday, May 5, at Hornet Stadium. The team will then compete at the Big Sky Championships in Moscow, Idaho, on May 8-11.
