ZURN, LINDSEY, GRIMM NAMED BIG SKY ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

OGDEN, Utah — Cassidy Zurn, Andre Lindsey and Julia Grimm were each named Big Sky Conference athletes of the week, it was announced today. Zurn was the recipient of the women's track award. Lindsey was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Week and Grimm was the Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Competing at the UC Riverside Spring Classic last weekend, Zurn finished first in the women's 400-hurdles. Her time of 1:00.37 was the best in the Big Sky this season and left her just a fraction of a second off her career best of 1:00.20. The junior also competed in the 100-hurdles where she finished with a time of 14.77.

Lindsey made his outdoor debut at the meet in Riverside and immediately posted the fastest time in the Big Sky this year. He ran 14.32 which placed him second overall in the meet and the best in the conference by over a tenth of a second.

Grimm finished first in the javelin at the UC Riverside Spring Classic. The senior had a best of 141-06 (43.13m) which was just off her Big Sky leading best of 146-01 set at the Sacramento State Hornet Invitational.

Sacramento State will next host the Mondo Team Challenge on Saturday, March 31, at Hornet Stadium. The team-scored meet is comprised of student-athletes from Sacramento State, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Long Beach State, UNLV, North Dakota and Southern Illinois. The meet will start with the men's hammer throw at 10 a.m. The first running event will begin at 11:50 a.m. and the meet is scheduled to conclude with the final event at 2:50 p.m.
