SOFTBALL'S GAME VS. LOYOLA MARYMOUNT CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN
POWAY, Calif. – Sunday's scheduled softball game between Sacramento State and Loyola Marymount was cancelled due to rain. The game was supposed to mark the Hornets' final contest of the Campbell/Cartier Classic.The final six games of the tournament were cancelled as Sacramento State concludes the tourney with a 1-3 record, including a victory over Pittsburgh and losses to New Mexico, Florida International and Northwestern.
Stanford was crowned the tournament champion by a runs allowed tiebreaker over Pacific (8 to 6), as both teams went 4-0.
Sacramento State (4-8 overall) returns to action next week as it takes part in the UC Santa Barbara Invitational (Feb. 22-24). The Hornets will play five games in three days against BYU, Providence, Illinois, Iowa State and Cal Poly.
