SOFTBALL’S SLATE OF SATURDAY GAMES CANCELED BECAUSE OF RAIN
2/10/2007
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Due to heavy rains that have hit the San Luis Obispo area, Sacramento State’s scheduled games on Saturday at the Cal Poly Softball Invitational have been canceled.
The Hornets were supposed to play host Cal Poly at 3 p.m., and 5:30 p.m., but those games have been wiped out because of the weather. Sacramento State will now play two games on Sunday, beginning with a matchup against 11th-ranked Washington at 10:30 a.m., and a game against Cal Poly at 1 p.m. Originally, the Hornets were scheduled to play just one game on Sunday, against Washington at 9:30 a.m.
Sacramento State began its season and tournament play yesterday with a pair of victories over Santa Clara. A notoriously slow starting team, the Hornets are 2-0 to start a season for the first time since 1995.
Below is Sunday’s revised schedule for the tournament.
8 a.m. - Washington vs. Santa Clara
10:30 a.m. - Sacramento State vs. Washington 1 p.m. - Sacramento State vs. Cal Poly
3:30 p.m. - Cal Poly vs. Santa Clara (tentative)
