SOFTBALL’S GAME WITH BIRMINGHAM SOUTHERN CANCELLED BECAUSE OF RAIN

STANFORD, Calif. -- Due to rains that have swept through the Bay Area, the Sacramento State softball team’s scheduled game this morning with Birmingham Southern has been cancelled. The Hornets and Panthers were scheduled to play at 11:30 a.m. in the first round of the Stanford Invitational.

Also in jeopardy is Sacramento State’s evening game today with Drake at 7:30 p.m. The Hornets are also supposed to take on Santa Clara (11:30 a.m.) and Birmingham Southern (5:30 p.m.) on Saturday, Feb. 18, and will conclude the tournament against host and seventh-ranked Stanford on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 11:30 a.m.

The Hornets (1-4) will take on Nevada in the home opener next Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m.
