High School
A 2012 graduate of Lodi High School…played three years of softball as a starter for the varsity squad (2009-11)…spent her first two seasons as the starting catcher before playing shortstop as a junior…did not player her senior year…was named the San Joaquin Athletic Association MVP each of her three seasons…named the league’s co-MVP as a junior after batting .482 with 22 runs, 23 RBIs, 13 doubles and two triples as the team’s cleanup hitter…drew 13 walks (.511 on-base percentage) while striking out just three times in 83 at-bats…helped lead Lodi to a co-SJAA championship all three years, including a combined 58-24-1 overall record and a 25-5 league mark…never hit below .450 in any of her three high school seasons…that includes a sophomore year where she batted .451 with 18 runs and 21 RBIs in 24 games, and a freshman season in which she hit .521 with 21 runs and 21 RBIs in 25 games…also named the SJAA Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore…finished her high school career batting .474 (109-for-230) with 52 runs, 62 RBIs and 30 doubles in 75 games.

Daughter of Donna Hovater…a family and consumer sciences major…played three years for the California Grapettes Gold ASA travel team (Lodi, Calif.)…played on the 2011 squad with current Hornet teammates Caitlin Brooks and Nicole Clark.
