Prior to Sacramento State
Spent her first collegiate season (2012) at the College of Charleston in South Carolina…that team finished 37-23 overall, and 14-9 in the Southern Conference, good for third place in the league standings…made seven appearances (four starts) in the circle during the team’s first 19 games, but missed the remainder of the season with a back injury…was granted a medical hardship because of the injury…finished 0-1 with a 3.07 ERA…in 13.2 innings, she allowed six earned runs while striking out five batters…allowed no earned runs in four of her seven appearances, including 3.2 innings of shutout relief against Virginia Tech on Feb. 25…left-handers batted just .143 (3-for-21) against Yerby.

High School
A 2011 graduate of James C. Enochs High School in Modesto…played four years of varsity softball for the Eagles…named first team all-Modesto Metro Conference and team MVP during each of her final two seasons…also a first team all-district and scholar-athlete selection as a senior…during her senior season (2011), she went 14-2 with a 1.24 ERA, including 72 strikeouts in 101.1 innings pitched…offensively, she batted .379 that season as well…helped lead the Eagles to second-place conference finishes in 2010 and 2011, and a combined 41-17-1 overall record and 23-7 league mark during that two-year stretch…the Eagles improved their conference record all four years of Yerby’s career, going 4-11 in 2008, 5-9 in 2009, 10-5 in 2010, and 13-2 in 2011.

Personal
Parents are Steve and Jerilyn Yerby…a child development major…played club softball for 10 years, including her final three seasons with the All American Sports Academy (Woodland, Calif.)…cousin, Ashley Applegate, played four years of softball at LSU, starting all but two games in the outfield for the 2012 Tigers squad that reached the College World Series.
