2011 Season
Appeared in 42 of the team’s 44 games, including 39 starts at catcher…hit .223 (23-103) with 11 runs, six doubles, four home runs and 17 RBIs…the home runs and RBIs were the second best mark on the team…led the squad with 18 walks and had a .347 on-base percentage…threw out 30 percent of the runners attempting to steal a base (9-30) when she was behind the plate…hit .273 against conference opposition with a home run and eight RBIs…had a season-high six-game hitting streak from April 10-22…had four games with at least three RBIs, including a career-high four against Northern Illinois…hit a walk-off three-run homer against Santa Clara on May 1…10 of Navarro’s 23 hits went for extra bases…had a hit in her first game of the year which extended her hitting streak to 13 games dating back to the 2010 season…that 13-game streak is tied for the fourth longest in Sacramento State’s Div. I history (1990-pres.).
2010 Season
An honorable mention all-PCSC Coastal Division selection…started all 49 games in which she appeared, including 44 at catcher, three at first base and two at designated player…hit .273 with 11 doubles, three home runs, 20 RBIs, nine walks, a sacrifice and a stolen base…committed just one error all season long (.995 fielding percentage)…threw out 11 of 34 runners attempting to steal a base (32.4 percent)…finished the season on a 12-game hitting streak, which was the longest by a Hornet during the year…during that 12-game stretch, she hit .467 (14-30) with six runs, two doubles, two home runs and eight RBIs…hit .356 (16-45) with runners in scoring position, .338 (22-65) with runners on base, and .333 (10-30) with runners on base and two outs in an inning…hit PCSC pitching hard, finishing the year with a .417 batting average (20-48) against conference opposition with seven runs, three doubles, three homers and 13 RBIs…hit in the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eight and ninth spots of the batting order, primarily in the sixth and seventh spots.
2009 Season
Appeared in 22 games, including 12 starts (eight at first base, three at catcher, once in left field)…hit .154 (6-39) with two runs, two doubles, one RBI, one sacrifice fly and four sacrifices…committed just three errors in 109 total chances (.972 fielding percentage).
High School
A 2008 graduate of Manteca High School in California…played four years of volleyball, basketball and softball for the Buffaloes…recipient of the Silver Buffalo Award after earning nine varsity letters in four years of high school…in softball, she was a four-year member of the varsity squad and a three-time all-Valley Oak League selection (first team during her final two seasons)…also named the league’s Catcher of the Year in 2007 and 2008…as a senior, she batted .347 with 15 RBIs…hit for the cycle during her sophomore year against Modesto High School…three-year member of the varsity basketball team and two-year varsity member of the volleyball squad…member of the school’s honor roll all four years.
Personal
Born Sept. 21, 1990…parents are Corey and Toni Navarro…a criminal justice major…played for the San Jose Sting with Sacramento State teammates Alyssa Nakken and Kelly Shepard.
