2008 Season
A second team all-PCSC selection after leading the Hornet pitching staff in ERA (2.73), appearances (35), saves (6) and opponents batting average (.211)...28 of her 35 appearances came out of the bullpen...her six saves are a program single-season record, and tied for the fifth best mark in the nation...converted six of her nine save opportunities...started the final game of the regular season at San Diego, marking her first start since March 11...that also snapped a string of 22 consecutive relief appearances...her relief appearances during the season ranged anywhere from 1.0 to 6.2 innings long...struck out at least one batter in all but five of her outings...had a streak of seven straight scoreless appearances (March 14-21)...after starting the year with a 3-4 record, she won nine of her last 11 decisions...against PCSC competition, she was 6-2 with a 2.07 ERA, including a .199 opponents batting average...in 130 at-bats against Clifford with two outs in an inning, she allowed just 17 hits all year (.131 opponents batting average)...named PCSC Pitcher of the Week on March 4.

2007 Season
In her first intercollegiate season, she finished the year 2-5 with a 6.20 ERA...after a rough first month of the season, Clifford allowed no runs in five of her last eight appearances...overall, she had 16 appearances, including three starts and one complete game...had 36 strikeouts in 40.2 innings...picked up her first victory in 4.0 innings of relief against UC Riverside...got her second victory against Santa Clara, allowing just four hits and one run in 5.2 innings of relief...perhaps her most impressive performance of the season came against sixth-ranked Northwestern where she allowed three runs and five hits with a season-high 11 strikeouts over 6.0 innings...named to the PCSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, given to players who earned a 3.0 gpa or better during the academic year.

High School
A 2006 graduate of Big Sky High School in Missoula, Mont...named the Montana Gatorade Softball Player of the Year in 2005 and 2006...also a three-time first team all-state selection...led the Eagles to a pair of state championships (2005-06) and four Western Conference titles (2003-06)...named to the Great Falls Tribune Super Softball Dream Team in 2005 and 2006...also an eight-time Regional Athlete of the Week...her career pitching record at Big Sky HS was 47-7 with a 0.46 ERA, including 562 strikeouts in 351.0 innings...posted 31 career shutouts, six no-hitters and one perfect game...struck out 128 batters in 66.0 innings at the state tournaments in 2005 and 2006...as a senior, she went 14-1 with a 0.19 ERA...set the school record for strikeouts with 198 in 2006, or 13.2 per seven innings...also had a .468 career batting average with school records in career home runs (20) and RBIs (72).

Personal
Born March 10, 1987...parents are Carleton and Vicki Clifford...a child development major...led her club team (Spokane Angels) to the 18-under NFPSA national championship in 2003...also played two years for the Washington Ladyhawks Gold...during the summer of 2008 while pitching for the Spokane All-Stars, she retired the first seven batters she faced against the USA Softball Team.
