SOFTBALL PLACES FIVE PLAYERS ON COMMISSIONER’S HONOR ROLL

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento State softball team placed five student-athletes on the Pacific Coast Softball Conference (PCSC) Commissioner’s Honor Roll, it was announced by the league office.
The award, in its sixth year of existence, is given to student-athletes who have earned a grade point average of 3.0 or better during the 2008-09 academic year. The Hornets have now placed at least five student-athletes on the honor roll during each year of the award’s existence.
Among the Hornets to receive the honor were freshmen Desiree Beltran, Alyssa Nakken and Kelly Shepard, and juniors Katie Bossenmaier and Keri Elias. Beltran was also named first team all-Pacific Region, first team all-PCSC and the conference’s freshman of the year last month. Nakken received honorable mention all-league honors.
