SOFTBALL PLACES CONFERENCE-HIGH 12 PLAYERS ON COMMISSIONER’S HONOR ROLL

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento State softball team placed a league-high 12 student-athletes on the Pacific Coast Softball Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll, it was announced today by the league office.
The award, currently in its fourth year of existence, is given to student-athletes who have earned a grade point average of 3.0 or better during the academic year (2006-07). The Hornets have now placed at least 10 student-athletes on the honor roll during each year of the award’s existence.
A total of 43 student-athletes from the six-team PCSC received the award, comprised of players from Santa Clara (9), Loyola Marymount (7), Portland State (6), Saint Mary’s (5) and San Diego (4).
Seven of the 12 Hornets named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll have now received the award multiple times during their careers, including Fryou being named for the fourth-straight year. Three-time winners include Dawson, Johnson, Tompkins and Williams, while Caoagan and Loomis have earned the award twice.
